AKANU IBIAM FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC UNWANA: 2011/2012 REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR FRESH STUDENTS


The following procedure should be followed by fresh students during their registration process:

1.     On arrival on campus, each candidate should report to the Admissions Office of the Registry for further instructions.
2.     The candidate then collects registration materials from the Admissions Officer and completes same.
3.     The candidate reports to the Head of Department who screens the Candidate’s certificates and endorses the registration/clearance form as Confirmation of acceptance of candidate by HOD.
4.     The candidate proceeds to any bank (Fidelity, Zenith, FBN, Oceanic, Fin Bank etc) to pay the assessed fees. Indicate department in your teller.

5.     The candidate thereafter is issued with a PIN (Personal Identification Number) in the Bank and with the PIN, the candidate proceeds to any cyber café (or the Polytechnic ICT Centre) and logs on to www.akanuibiampoly.com to complete the online registration form. At the completion of registration, acknowledgement of payment of fees/online registration slip will be printed.
Note:
Candidates are advised to retain this slip as it will subsequently be demanded of them for further registration.
6.     The candidate then reports to the Registration Officer, presenting the following documents:
i.                    Letter of Offer of provisional Admission (if applicable)
ii.                  Photocopy of acknowledgement slip of payment of fees/online registration.
iii.                (a) Original and four photocopies of payment of fees/online registration.
(b) IT letter (If applicable);
iv.               Nine self-addressed and stamped envelops;
v.                 Twelve passport-sized photographs with candidate’s name and program clearly written at the back;
vi.               Testimonial from the last school attended;
vii.             Letter of Attestation of good character from a parent, a clergy man or a senior public officer,
viii.           The candidate proceeds to the medical centre for registration and medical examination;
ix.               The candidate reports back to the Registration Officer and presents the following;
a.      Evidence of acceptance of Offer of Admission (where applicable)
b.     Slip of Registration
c.     Medical clearance
d.     Letter of Attestation
e.      Three (3) files (containing photocopies of  (a-d)

x.                 The registration Officer signs the forms and returns the files direct to the candidate to distribute the three (3) files as follows;
a.      The Head of Department
b.     Students Affairs
c.     Admissions Officer. (Registration Officer).

NOTE:              You are required to maintain the order of name in the certificate with which you have been offered admission. No change of name will be allowed except for a female student who may get married during her programme. There should be no abbreviation of NAMES in any form to be completed.
